For Spring – Summer 2017, Rami Al Ali launched the fifth pret-a-porter collection introducing romantic abstraction to the fashion vernacular. The collection maintains an airy, fresh and insouciant approach to cocktail dressing while keeping true to the charming allure signature of Al Ali designs. Soft pleats and folds prevailed from afore, depicting the quintessential glamour and sophistication the house is famed for. Embroidery, guipures and floral patterns along with luxurious lace detailing have been used to sculpt the dresses to accentuate the feminine figure, while undulating textures and experimental structures are employed to complement this further. Using plush fabrics such as satin, embroidered organza, lace, raffia, tulle and jacquard the 28-dress collection. With a singular mandate to empower women to be the best versions of themselves, this season Rami Al Ali steered away from the archetypal definition of romanticism and presents an alternative stance centered on artistic imagination. Showcasing long, sweeping silhouettes and elaborate embroidered motifs, Al Ali embarks on a journey of freedom with an overarching theme of stylistic individualism visceral in the collection.
